Sam Kerr fronts court over alleged racial harassment of police officer

Matildas star Sam Kerr has fronted court in London charged with the racially aggravated harassment of a police officer.

The 31-year-old is alleged to have racially insulted the UK police officer following an incident involving a taxi fare back in January 2023.

However, she wasn’t charged until 2024 and pleaded not guilty in March last year.

The Australian sporting superstar appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday local time for a hearing that lasted most of the day.

She was ordered to stand trial, with the matter scheduled to begin on February 3.

The trial is expected to last up to four days.
