Exciting news for Australian Idol fans, with the much-anticipated judging line-up for the iconic series, which is making a comeback next year, unveiled.
The singing competition, which helped launched the careers of many multi-award-winning Aussie artists including Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Matt Corby, Ricki-Lee, and Anthony Callea, hasn’t graced our TV screens since 2009.
But it will be back bigger and better than ever on Channel 7 in 2023, with a superstar lineup of judges who were announced this morning.
Helping unearth the next Idol to take Australia by storm will be American Idol judge, musician and multiple Grammy Award winner Harry Connick Jr.
He will be joined by powerhouse Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor, unfiltered radio host Kyle Sandilands, and eight-time ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter and local Gold Coaster Amy Shark.
Shark says she can’t wait to get stuck into the auditions.
“It’s going to be pretty special to find that diamond in the rough and then see how they progress through the show,” the 36-year-old said.
“Idol has changed the lives of so many artists in the past, so I’m excited to be part of that.”

Superstar singer Meghan Trainor told Seven she’s honoured to be part of such an iconic show.
“I grew up watching it and I am honoured to be involved… I can’t wait to sit front row and meet new talent,” The All About That Bass singer said.
“I haven’t been to Australia since 2015, so I’m really excited to get to see the whole country and basically get to live there!”
Australian Idol will be hosted by Ricki-Lee, who was discovered on the show in 2004, and internationally renowned entertainment presenter and former E! host Scott Tweedie.
