Around half the adult population of Australia is expected to have an entry for tonight’s massive Powerball jackpot with a whopping $120 million up for grabs.
If one person takes home the whole jackpot it will be the biggest individual lottery win in Australian history.
The previous record for an individual prize is $107,575,649.08 won by a Sydney nurse in 2019.
Powerball’s largest jackpot ever is $150 million which was shared by three winners last year.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart says people shouldn’t delay getting their ticket.
“While we’ve never had a $120 million Powerball draw before, if previous big jackpots are anything to go by, we can expect it to get busier and busier at lottery outlets and online leading up to tomorrow night’s draw,” Mr Hart said.’
Last week’s jackpot saw up to 6,000 entries a minute being sold in the lead up to the draw with the peak time just before 5pm.
“We encourage customers to not only get in early to purchase their entries but also register their entries to a player card or online account so we can contact them directly after the draw with some incredible news!
“If we have a division one winner tomorrow, we’ll be wanting to let them know straight after the draw. They may not need to head into work on Friday, or ever again!”
Mr Hart recommends grabbing a Powerhit entry which has been responsible for half of the division one wins.
According to The Lott, the most frequently drawn numbers are 17, 9, 11 and 25 while the most frequently drawn Powerball number is 19.
The least frequently drawn numbers have been 6, 31, 15 and 33while the Powerball number drawn the least is 18.
Entries close at 7.30pm AEST.
