Powerball has soared to an eye-watering $100 million after no one held the lucky numbers in last night’s $60 million draw.
It’s the first time this year the jackpot has soared so high, giving Aussie hopefuls the chance to become the second-largest lotto winner in Australian history.
While no one took out Division One last night, there were a total of 1,980,836 prizes worth more than $40.2 million won in divisions two to nine.
Among those winners were four division two winners who each took home a cool $280,009.50 prize.
Up to half of Australia’s adults are now expected to grab an entry into next Thursday’s draw, with the hopes of becoming the nation’s newest multi-millionaire.
“As this is the largest lottery jackpot we’ve seen in Australia since December of 2022, we’re expecting it to be busy in-store and online in the lead-up to next Thursday’s draw,” The Lott spokesperson James Eddy said.
“We’re sure most Powerball players are already dreaming about what they’d do if they won a slice of this massive jackpot next week. The holiday of a lifetime, immediate retirement, your perfect home and all your other dreams could be a reality.
“Powerball has been on a winning streak this year, with eight Powerball division one winning entries across Australia so far in 2023 collectively taking home more than $154 million.
“Will we add to that tally next week? Only time will tell!”
