If you had woken up this morning hoping to be Australia’s newest lotto millionaire, I’m afraid I have some bad news.

Nobody won last night’s massive $80 million Division One Powerball meaning the prize has jackpotted for the sixth consecutive week to a whopping $120 million.

It’s the second-biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history and the largest prize the game has offered for more than two and a half years.

If one player walks away with it all next Thursday, they’ll become the biggest individual lottery prize winner in Australian history.

With such a big prize on offer, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart expects up to one-in-two Australian adults to buy a ticket.

“In September 2019, the game soared to a historic $150 million and we haven’t seen it climb past $80 million since… until now,” he said.

“With such a massive offer on the table, we’re expecting people right around the country to be dreaming about exactly how they’d transform their lives if they won that prize.

“And as a result, it’s going to be busy both online and in-store leading up to the draw, so make sure you get your hands on a ticket early.

“We encourage customers to not only get in early but also to register those entries, so their prizes are secure, and we can contact them directly after the draw with the life-changing news if they do win division one.”
