Bad news for parmi and schnitty lovers… with the cost of chicken on the rise, becoming the latest victim to sky-rocketing cost of living.

Pubgoers will likely have to fork out a little extra, with reports poultry producer Ingham has hiked up their prices.

Australia’s largest chicken producer says their costs are rising across feed, transport and fuel – much like the rest of the country.

It’s understood feed costs for the company’s flock of chickens rose more than $45 million last year, with similar increases expected this financial year.

Businesses including supermarkets, restaurants, butchers and fast food chains will likely start passing on the increases to customers.
