Aussies keen to kick off the New Year as a multi-millionaire will be eagerly counting down the days to next week’s Powerball.
The jackpot has surged to a whopping $100 million after no one held a division one winning entry in last night’s $50 million Powerball draw.
Despite no one taking home the top prize, there were three lucky division two winners, who nabbed a cheeky $287,740.40.
Next week’s $100 million draw is the third biggest jackpot offered this year, with up to half of all Australian adults expected to buy a ticket with the hopes of becoming the nation’s newest multi-millionaire before the year ends.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said anyone who scored a slice of the $100 million Powerball jackpot next Thursday night would enter the new year on a high.
“With the Powerball juggernaut on the rise once again, we’re ready to crown some more multi-millionaires before we dive into 2023!” he said.
“If just one person takes home next Thursday’s $100 million jackpot, they’ll immediately become the nation’s second-biggest lottery winner ever.
“There’s no doubt most Australians will be dreaming about how their new year plans might change if they scored the entire $100 million Powerball jackpot.”
The winning numbers in last night’s draw were 31, 23, 5, 28, 7, 18 and 21, while the all-important Powerball number was 4.
