COVID-19 cases in NSW have again hit 10,000 following consecutive days of numbers falling below the figure.
In the past 24 hours, 10,312 new infections have been detected across the state, up from 9,690 cases yesterday.
There’s also been an increase in COVID-19 related deaths, with 20 people with the virus passing away overnight.
In some good news, hospitalisations have fallen signficantly to 1,906, down from 2068 on Tuesday.
Of those, 132 are in intensive care.
Meantime, Victoria has recorded 9,908 new cases of COVID-19 and a further 21 deaths.
There are currently 542 patients being treated in hospital, down from 575 yesterday.
