There’s been an increase in COVID-19 cases in NSW, but the number of people with the virus in intensive care and hospital has dropped.
In the past 24 hours, there have been 21,030 new COVID-19 infections, up from 18,512 the day before.
Of the new cases up to 8pm yesterday, 12,918 were from PCR tests, while 8,112 were from positive rapid tests, with 7,416 of those from tests over the last seven days.
Sadly, the state has also recorded a further 29 deaths.
The total number of people being treated for the virus in hospital now stands at 2,794, down 149 from yesterday.
While there are now 175 people in intensive care, down from 183 on Tuesday.
Meantime, Victoria has recorded 13,507 new infections today.
The state also reported a further 35 deaths.
There are now 139,562 active cases across Victoria, with 1089 in hospital, including 113 in intensive care.
