The LNP candidate for the marginal Brisbane seat of Lilley has been referred to the Australian Federal Police for allegedly lying on his enrolment.
Mr Vivian Lobo was among the candidates declared late last month, as a candidate for the Liberal National Party of Queensland.
The Electoral Commission says it is aware of ‘reports made in the media recently about Mr Lobo’s enrolled address’.
“Following Mr Lobo’s candidate nomination for the 2022 federal election we have reviewed the declarations made on Mr Lobo’s enrolment and nomination forms,” a statement from the AEC reads.
“There is concern as to whether the information provided by him regarding his residential address on these forms is false.
“The AEC has referred this matter to the AFP for investigation.”
