A popular children’s teething toy has been recalled from Kmart stores across the country over choking fears.

The Anko Teething Llama, suitable for ages 0+, has been pulled from shelves over a potentially deadly defect.

“The cap that seals the mould entry point in one foot, may not be secure and could detach from the teether,” the recall notice reads.

“If the cap detaches from the teether,  it can pose a choking hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death.”

The rubber toy has been available for sale both in stores and online between  – 

Parents and carers are being told to immediately stop using the teether and return it to the nearest Kmart store for a full refund.
