A mix of entertainment and sport will combine tonight to celebrate the life of cricket legend Shane Warne.
The king of spin, who died of a heart attack while in Thailand last month, will be farewelled at a State Memorial at the MCG.
More than 51,000 people are expected to pack the stadium for the event, which will be televised not only across the country but also internationally.
Sir Donald Bradman’s granddaughter Greta will sing the National Anthem, while there will also be musical tributes from Sir Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Robbie Williams.
Warne’s family will also be in attendance, with his father Keith admitting it will be a fitting send-off.
“It certainly will be an amazing celebration, whats great about it, 17 years of playing international cricket and all these people who have been following for this period of time will get to see a really big send-off.
“It’s what he would have wanted, there’s so many people who have come and offered their help in video tributes, it’s just going to be a massive night”.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he will also be there in-person to pay his respects.
“I will be heading down there this afternoon,” Mr Morrison told Sunrise on Wednesday morning.
“I hope tonight what people will be able to do is just pour out their love for Shane and all of his family.
“Shane has given us all so many wonderful moments and he’s such an Australian character and icon, so I’m looking forward to seeing his life celebrated tonight”.
