Australians have less than 12 hours to secure a ticket into tonight’s eye-watering $100 million Powerball jackpot.
The whopping $100 million prize is the biggest jackpot offered by any Australian lottery game so far this year.
It’s also only the sixth time Powerball has offered a $100 million prize in the game’s long 27-year history.
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said as a result, half of all Australian adults are expected to buy a ticket in the hopes of becoming the country’s second-largest lotto winner EVER!
“This is the biggest jackpot offered by any Australian lottery game so far in 2023, so we expect it to be busy in-store and online leading up to the final minutes of draw close time tonight,” she said.
“We haven’t seen a $100 million Powerball draw since December 2022 and back then it was shared among three players who each received a life-changing $33.3 million right before the new year.
“On that occasion, the peak of sales was at 5.38pm on the day of the draw when Aussies nabbed more than 5,500 tickets in a single minute.
“Our best advice to lottery players vying for a chance to win this mammoth prize is to get in early and don’t leave purchasing your entry until the last minute!”
The draw closes at 7.30pm AEST tonight – good luck!
