A groundbreaking celebration is about to hit the city as the highly anticipated Festival of FUN (FOF) takes center stage.

Set to unfold at the Carrara Indoor Sports & Leisure Centre on November 18th, the event promises to redefine the art of celebration by embracing inclusivity like never before.

FOF Founder David (Macca) McFarland said the Festival aims to bring everyone of all abilities together, to have fun and create a platform to do better for people living with a disability.

“The Festival of FUN was created due to a lack of accessible and inclusive experiences available for those living with a disability in ‘traditional’ festivals,” Mr McFarland said.

“Our aim is to promote and educate all, that it isn’t that hard to do more to make your event accessible for all, this will become the new normal.

“Festival of FUN is about the person living with the disability, giving them a voice in what can sometimes be a voiceless world,” he said.

Starting at 11 am, attendees will be treated to a diverse range of free outdoor activities from engaging demonstrations in the ‘Try Me Sports Arena’ to an ‘Art Hub’ and an ‘All About You Business Expo.’

There will be a live stage extravaganza where some of Australia’s best singers with and without a disability will join forces as ‘one voice’ and belt out the world’s most beloved singalong songs.

Singing this year will be Mitch Tambo, Lisa Hunt, Mic On Wheels, Matt Stokes, Charlie Mitchell, Sharon Lee, Tim McCallum and more to be announced soon.

Joining them on stage will be one of the Festival Ambassadors, Auslan ‘rock god’ Mikey Webb.

The Festival of FUN is also backed by star-studded line up of ambassadors, including US basketball superstar LaMelo Ball and Dr Dinesh Palipana.

Ball has first-hand experience with a disability after his mum had a stroke in 2017 which affected her ability to speak, comprehend, read and write.

Tickets for the event are on pre-sale now and starting at just $20.
