Residents flee Gold Coast unit complex after fire breaks out

A Gold Coast high rise has had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in an apartment.

Emergency services were called to the complex on Trickett St near The Esplanade just after 7pm on Thursday.

The blaze had started in a first-floor unit of the building.

Residents were safely evacuated with the fire quickly extinguished.

It’s believed the blaze started in a dryer.

No one was injured.
