A young man has died after his motorbike crashed into a truck on the Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to Franklin Drive in Mudgeeraba around 5.00pm on Thursday following reports of a serious crash.
According to police, a Yamaha YZ400F trail bike was travelling east along Franklin Dr when it crashed head-on into a tow truck travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider, a 21-year-old man, suffered critical injuries.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he sadly passed away.
The driver of the truck, a 41-year-old Robina man, managed to escape physical injury.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
