A young boy has been seriously injured after a massive fall from a rope swing in Maudsland.

The 12-year-old fell around 15 metres down an embankment off Riverbreeze Crescent just before 2pm.

It sparked a rescue operation, which Queensland Ambulance described as a “difficult extrication”.

The boy suffered significant wrist and pelvic injuries in the fall.

He’s been rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

QFES rescue crews supported QAS in the delicate rescue.
