Young boy in custody following Gold Coast gel blaster incident

A 12-year-old-boy has been taken into custody after a frightening incident in Southport last night.

Police were called to Scarborough Street just after 6pm with reports a person had been spotted with a gun.

However, it’s alleged the young boy was actually found to be holding a gel blaster.

Police tracked the youngster to an address on North Street a short time later where he was taken into custody without incident.

The 12-year-old boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act for going armed as to cause fear.
