Fire crews have spent the morning putting out a large blaze on a 50ft yacht on the Gold Coast.
The vessel erupted into flames while anchored around 70 metres offshore in Biggera Waters.
The blaze took hold around 3am on Monday with two crews called to douse the flames from a nearby rescue boat.
It’s understood no one was onboard the yacht at the time, so there were no reports of any injuries.
It’s not yet known what sparked the fire, with investigations ongoing.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson confirmed the job has now been left in the hands of Gold Coast Water Police.
