Aviation fans, mark your calendars!
The skies above Surfers Paradise are set to roar to life in August 2023, with an incredible aviation event set to take-off down under for the first time ever!
Pacific Airshow Gold Coast will be the biggest airshow ever seen in Australia, with an action-packed line-up including the world’s most elite military aviators and civilian performers as well as emerging urban air mobility technologies and much more.
In addition to a stunning display of aerial acrobatics overhead, the three-day festival will also incorporate an epic entertainment and hospitality program, A-lister parties and exclusive VIP meet and greets.
The large-scale event will be similar to the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach, California, which is attended by more than three million people each year, with US event organisers Code Four also behind the Australian version.
Major Events Gold Coast CEO Jan McCormick said securing the Pacific Airshow for five years was a game changer for the Gold Coast.
“This exciting five-year partnership well and truly cements our city’s reputation as a world-class events destination that has the capacity to host the biggest shows on the planet,” said Ms McCormick.
“The economic impact of hosting an event of this size is also substantial and will deliver a significant boost not just for businesses in Surfers Paradise but for hotels, restaurants, retail, and the event industry supply chain right across the city and the greater Southeast Queensland region.”
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said There has never been an air event of this scale staged anywhere in Australia.
“That’s why the Gold Coast is famous for fun – in the air and on the ground,’’ he said.
“This event underscores our commitment to attracting the very best in global entertainment for our residents, visitors and businesses.”
