A WOMAN has been attacked with a knife after confronting a teenage boy who broke into her Gold Coast unit early this morning.
The 32-year-old was woken by noises inside her Tallebudgera Drive unit at Palm Beach around 1.30am and went to investigate.
According to police, the woman saw light coming from a torch in her kitchen and confronted a teenage boy searching through her drawers and cupboards.
“The boy threatened the woman with a knife and a struggle ensued before the boy fled the unit,” Queensland Police said.
The woman suffered three cuts to her fingers and hand.
The boy was tracked down by police on Tallebudgera Drive a short time later and arrested.
The 16-year-old, from Woodridge, has been charged with one count each of wounding, break and enter, stealing, possession of a knife in a public place and wilful damage.
He’s due to appear in the Southport Children’s Court this afternoon.
