Crime scene declared after woman killed in Surfers Paradise unit fire

Investigations are continuing after a woman was killed in a ferocious unit fire in Surfers Paradise.

Emergency services were called to a complex on Surf Parade around 2pm on Wednesday following reports of a blaze.

Upon arrival, they found a unit on the third floor of the building engulfed in flames.

All occupants of the unit complex were evacuated before the fire was extinguished by 2.30pm.

Sadly, a 28-year-old woman was found deceased at the scene.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, however, police have confirmed the death is being treated as non-suspicious.
