A woman has died after a horror e-scooter crash in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
The 30-year-old was travelling along The Esplanade at the intersection of Trickett Street around 3.30pm on Thursday when she was struck by a BMW.
The woman suffered critical injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Despite desperate efforts by doctors and staff, the woman could not be revived and died shortly after arrival.
The driver of the BMW, a 38-year-old man, was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for mandatory testing.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
They’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.
