A hiker has suffered serious injuries after falling off a cliff in the Gold Coast hinterland, with a rescue mission underway.
The woman in her 60s fell 15 metres off a track and into a creek covered in rocks at Lamington National Park at around 1pm Friday.
The rescue chopper is on its way to the scene to winch the woman to hospital.
The woman miraculously managed to get up out of the creek, where she walked 2 metres down an embankment and raised the alarm for help.
Paramedics trekked hours into the hinterland to find the woman, who has sustained chest, abdominal and shoulder injuries.
She is in a serious but stable condition, currently receiving medical treatment from paramedics.
Police and the SES are also on scene.
