A woman has had a miraculous escape after her car ploughed around eight metres over an embankment on the Gold Coast.

The vehicle was travelling along Smith Street at Pacific Pines when it lost control and left the road, crashing into bushland.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC it happened near Pitcairn Way around 7.15am.

The woman behind the wheel, aged in her 60s, managed to escape with minor injuries.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Motorists are being warned of delays in the area.
