A woman has been taken to hospital after a large fire broke out at a unit block in Biggera Waters this morning.
The blaze erupted around 4.30am at a three-storey apartment complex on the Corner of Loder Street and Brisbane Road.
Multiple fire crews rushed to the scene, with a QFES spokesperson confirming it took them around an hour to extinguish the flames.
Parts of Brisbane Road had to be closed off while emergency services responded to the blaze.
Thankfully all residents of the complex managed to evacuate safely.
Two people were assessed at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation, with a woman taken to hospital for further treatment.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, however initial inquiries suggest it may have been sparked by a candle in a bedroom.
