Police have launched an investigation into a horror motorbike crash on the Pacific Motorway that’s left a young woman fighting for her life in hospital.
The 18-year-old was riding northbound on the M1 through Oxenford around 5.30pm on Sunday when her motorcycle crashed into the back of a 4WD.
The woman, from Pacific Pines, suffered significant injuries to her abdomen, chest, legs, arms, and head.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
The crash closed two northbound lanes of the M1 for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene and detectives analysed the crash site.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing this morning, with police appealing for anyone with dashcam to come forward.
