A woman has now been charged in relation to the alleged murder of a young man outside a Gold Coast tavern.
Dylan McPadden, 26, died on August 17 after he was stabbed in the chest during what police allege was a 90-second fight with another man in the smokers area at RQ’s in Robina.
Detectives allege punches were thrown before the offender pulled out a knife, stabbing Mr McPadden in the chest.
“The male offender has arrived at the tavern in company with a female and arguments have commenced almost directly,” Detective Acting Inspector Mark Proctor said.
“As a result of that argument, he has produced a knife and stabbed the victim once in the chest”.
Detective Acting Inspector Proctor said it all unfolded very quickly.
“It was a fight that turned deadly very quickly. It started off as a fight, a knife was produced and it ended very quickly,” he said.
A 26-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after at 2am the next morning and was charged with murder.
Following ongoing investigations, a 31-year-old Southport woman was arrested at a home in Waterford West yesterday and charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.
She was denied police bail to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
