Police have charged four people and seized two vehicles following a major operation targeting hoons on the Gold Coast.
Officers also dished out another 21 traffic infringements.
A large gathering of hoons initially took place in Yatala on Saturday night before the group were later observed by Police in various locations around Logan and South Brisbane.
One young man was spotted by officers allegedly driving dangerously in a white ute.
Police attempted to intercept him but he allegedly sped off before crashing into a median strip.
The driver is then accused of running from the vehicle before being tracked down a short time later with the help of Polair.
The 19-year-old Mt Warren Park man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and evasion and will front Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 28.
His car has also been impounded for 90 days.
“This behaviour is so dangerous it could have a lasting impact on their life or career, particularly if they’re injured or put before the courts,” Acting Chief Superintendent Rhys Wildman said.
“A simple act gone wrong could also impact the lives of their mates. Their behaviour is simply selfish.
Acting Chief Superintendent Wildman said officers will now spend the coming days going through footage from the gatherings to track down others involved.
“Those who were involved in illegal activity can expect an officer to arrive at their house or their workplace at anytime.”
