A major drug ring has been busted with police seizing $1.6 million of cocaine during raids across the Gold Coast.
Three men have been charged with drug trafficking following property raids in Nerang, Southport and Hope Island.
Police allege they located and seized 1.6 kilograms of cocaine, $27,000 in cash and drug-related paraphernalia.
It follows extensive investigations from Detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad Gold Coast
‘Operation Eureka’ which commenced in August to target the supply and distribution of cocaine across South East Queensland.
“Police will allege the syndicate suppled dangerous drugs to a large number of individuals,” a QPS statement reads.
“The success of this operation will have a significant impact in disrupting the local drug trade and reducing the supply of dangerous drugs available in the community.”
A 34-year-old Hope Island man has been charged with trafficking, produce and possession of dangerous drugs, possess property suspected to be proceeds and possession of things and utensils used.
A 29-year-old Southport man has been charged with trafficking, produce and possession of dangerous drugs, possess property suspected to be proceeds, possession of things and utensils used and possess prohibited item
A 38-year-old Southport man has been charged with trafficking, produce and possession of dangerous drugs and possession of things and utensils used.
The trio are expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
