Police have released footage of a vehicle they’re hoping to track down, as investigations continue into the brutal bashing of a man in Southport.

A 30-year-old man suffered a fractured eye socket and internal bleeding after being set upon by a man and woman in a white hatchback.

The man was almost hit by the vehicle while walking along Scarborough Street around 1am on Wednesday September 28.

The duo then exited the car and began a verbal argument with him, before the male punched the victim in the face multiple times.

The pair fled the scene in the vehicle, leaving the man significantly injured on the side of the road.

He was located a short time later by a passer-by who contacted emergency services.

The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he had to undergo surgery.
