Broadwater Parklands will come alive with everything that digs, scoops, cleans and beeps this Sunday for Monster Machinery Day.
Nearly 60 City vehicles will be on display, with locals of all ages able to get up close to diggers, excavators, graders, loaders, tip trucks, road sweepers, beach tractors, quad bikes and emergency vehicles.
“This much-loved family event is free of charge and can be enjoyed by machinery fans of all ages,” said Division 6 Councillor, Brooke Patterson.
“It’s like getting the chance to play with life sized toys and stepping into a world where you are a construction worker, cleaner or lifeguard for a day.”
Hot Tomato Breakfast Announcer Emily Jade O’Keeffe cannot wait to head along with her son Teddy on Sunday.
“It’s so fun for the kids. It’s just great seeing the joy on kids’ faces, and let’s just face it, mums and dads like it too,” she told myGC.
“It’s absolutely for the whole family, because whilst the kids are climbing all over the equipment, they actually do these great displays.”
Some of the highlights on the day include the free kids’ activities, live machinery demonstrations, Hot Wheels display, a giant sandpit, a face painter and food trucks.
Monster Machinery Day is on this Sunday 29 May, from 9am – 3pm at the Southern Lawn at Broadwater Parklands. Entry is FREE. For information visit: cityofgoldcoast.com.au/monstermachineryday
