Police are on the hunt for two men after a brutal bashing in Burleigh Heads left a man with a badly broken jaw and nose.

The attack was sparked after the 24-year-old Biggera Waters man and two other men began verbally arguing at a bust-stop on the Gold Coast Highway.

It happened just before 3am on Sunday October 2, with police today releasing footage of the two wanted men as investigations continue.

One of the men repeatedly punched the 24-year-old to the side of his face, where he suffered a broken jaw on both sides and a broken nose.

The three men then wrestled onto the road where an officer, who was attending to another job with his partner nearby, interrupted the trio and broke up the fight.

While the officer was attending to the injured 24-year-old, the two men fled the scene on foot.

Police are urging the two men shown in the footage to come forward.
