Police are searching for a man after an overnight robbery at a service station at Highland Park.

The man entered the service station on Alexander Drive around 9pm on Monday night before standing behind a female employee who was stacking shelves.

The worker became alarmed at his behaviour and ran into a secure room at the back of the service station.

The man then climbed through wires at the front counter before stealing cigarettes from a cabinet.

He then fled along Alexander Drive.

No one was injured in the incident but Police believe the man was armed with a knife.

There were no customers in the service station at the time.
