Three men have been charged after allegedly being caught carrying knives in one of the Gold Coast’s Safe Night Precincts over the weekend.
A 49-year-old Banora Point man was stopped by officers conducting wanting trials on Surf Parade in Broadbeach.
A small knife was located inside the man’s jumper while a quantity of the drug ice was also found in his belongings.
While Police were searching his bag the man attempted to run from officers, but he was quickly brought down.
He’s been charged with weapons and drug offences and banned from the Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise Safe Night Precincts.
The man will front Southport Magistrates Court on December 13.
A second man was stopped on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach with a knife, the drug ice and drug utensils allegedly found on him.
The 27-year-old has also been charged with weapons and drug offences and banned from Safe Night Precincts.
The Tenerife man will front court on December 9.
A third man was intercepted by Police conducting wanding at licensed premises on Surf Parade.
A knife was allegedly located on the 29-year-old.
He has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place, he is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on December 20.
An operation in Surfers Paradise over the weekend saw 297 people wanded.
However, no weapons were located during the blitz.
