Police have released footage of a terrifying armed robbery at a Southport service station as they appeal for help to find the armed thief.
A man threatened an employee with a knife at the Ampol on the corner of Smith St and Kumbari Ave at around 7.30pm on Saturday night.
Several other customers were also in the store at the time of the robbery.
Security footage shows the alleged offender in a high-vis hoodie and white hat walking past the service stations’ petrol browsers.

The man dons a black face mask before entering the service station where he is seen pulling out a knife as he approaches the counter.
A customer standing nearby is then waved away by the thief with his knife.
The thief stole a number of cigarettes before escaping on foot.
Police are urging anyone who recognises the man to contact them.
