A man has been charged after allegedly being caught speeding while drunk and without a licence.
Police intercepted a Nissan Maxima travelling southbound on the M1 at Pimpama around 2am on Saturday.
Officers allege the vehicle was travelling at 159km/h in a 110 zone.
The 47-year-old driver was breath-tested and allegedly blew 0.229.
He has been charged with charged with driving a motor vehicle without a licence and driving under the influence of alcohol.
He’ll front Southport Magistrates Court on August 8.
The man has also been fined $1,854 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h.
