A driver has been lucky to escape serious injury after a ute was ripped in half in a horror crash at Nerang.
The driver reportedly failed to negotiate a left-hand turn on Beaudesert Nerang Rd at Tibbing St around 9.50pm on Saturday night.
The force of the crash also ripped a tree out of the ground.
The driver was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
Investigations are also underway into a nasty accident in the Hinterland that left three people injured.
Two cars collided on Beaudesert Nerang Road around 10.15pm on Saturday night.
A woman in her 30s was treated for chest pain while a man in his 30s suffered chest and abdominal injuries.
A second man in his 30s suffered minor injuries in the crash.
All three were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
A fourth person declined transport to hospital.
