A truck carrying 30,000 litres of cooking oil has crashed and caught on fire on the M1 northbound.
It happened around 5.30 this morning at Reedy Creek when the truck smashed into the Stapley Drive underpass, with all northbound lanes currently closed.
Diversions are in place, however, Police are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible.
Four fire crews, police and Queensland Ambulance are on the scene.
The driver, a male in his 60s, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with back pain.
Delays are currently back to Burleigh with traffic at a standstill.
QFES has confirmed the fire has now been put out.
