Truck left dangling off bridge after northern Gold Coast crash

Police have confirmed they’re investigating the cause of a nasty truck crash that has closed a bridge in Pimpama.

Authorities were called to Pimpama Jacobs Well Road just before midnight following reports a truck had come off the bridge and also brought down powerlines.

Upon arrival, they found the nose of the truck in the water, with the other half dangling off the bridge.

Miraculously, the driver, aged in his 40s, managed to escape serious injury and declined transport to hospital.

However, the bridge has been deemed unstable and has now been closed off to motorists as engineers assess the damage.
