After two years of lockdowns, disruptions, and cancelled holidays, Aussies are ready to dust off their passports and get travelling once again.

However people are not just looking to holiday in the same way they did before, with Travelfix founder and managing director Melanie Hardie telling myGC travel trends show Australians are looking for a more elevated travel experience.

“People are in search of either a more luxurious holiday, or a more authentic and cultured experience,” she said.

While Travelfix caters to all travel needs, to help travellers enjoy a truly memorable holiday they’ve been craving, the Gold Coast based online travel agency has curated an Immersive Experience Collection.

“We are experiencing strong growth in bookings for 2023/2024 departures, with many unique and larger cost itineraries quickly selling out. This is evident by the inaugural Cairo to Lisbon 46-night 2023 Rivers of the World voyage with Uniworld Boutique River Cruises which sold out in days.”

Ms Hardie said organised tours and ocean cruises are also proving very popular, with brands such as Trafalgar Tours and Royal Caribbean International, showing people are looking for that extra level of care whilst travelling.

In fact, the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) projects the cruise industry is expected to recover 101% of 2019 levels by the end of 2022 and 112% by 2026 in their upside forecast.

With many countries now open and travel confidence getting back to pre-pandemic levels, Ms Hardie said Travelfix has seen a steady rise in enquiries for 2022 travel in line with the northern hemisphere summer season.

“We believe what we are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg, with many people to still lock in their travel plans. We encourage anyone considering travelling in 2022/2023 to enquire with us sooner rather than later, as the popular travel deals are selling out and we do not want people to miss out on their dream holiday,” she said.

Travelfix, which is owned and operated by The Travel Squad Pty Ltd, recently celebrated a momentous milestone of turning one onboard the popular superyacht YOT Club, with all its employees, travel suppliers, partners, and special friends.

“The event was a watershed moment, not only for the business, but hopefully an optimistic sign of things to come for the industry, highlighting the resurgence of travel and the key role travel agents now play to guide people as the world navigates its way out of the pandemic,” Ms Hardie told myGC said.
