Police have laid charges against a gang of teenagers following a horrific carjacking attack on the Gold Coast.
A 50-year-old woman was allegedly dragged from her car and assaulted by the group along Ainsley Avenue in Ashmore on Sunday morning.
The victim’s 2022 Toyota Corolla was stolen, and she was hospitalised following the terrifying ordeal.
Police managed to track down eight teenagers all up, aged between just 13 and 17, who were all arrested on Monday.
Three of them have been charged today, while charges are yet to be laid on the remaining five.
A 15-year-old Woodridge boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed driving.
He is due to face Beenleigh Childrens Court at a later date.
A 13-year-old Inala boy and a 14 year-old Inala girl have both been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
They are both due to face Richlands Childrens Court at a later date.
“Investigations into five other children detained yesterday are ongoing,” a QPS statement reads.
“Investigators continue to appeal for anyone with information about either vehicles or who may have CCTV of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.”
