Three young people have been arrested and charged after leading police on a wild chase across the Gold Coast in a stolen car.

Police were first alerted after receiving a number of calls from the public about a Black 2016 Hyundai i30 hatchback driving erratically on Bermuda Street around 8pm on Tuesday.

It was then tracked by PolAir as it drove onto the M1 and made its way north past Smith Street.

It turned back around and officers were able to eventually get it with a tyre deflation device on Helensvale Road.

All four tyres were damaged but the driver continued to head south and was again seen driving dangerously along Markeri Street in Mermaid Waters.

It then travelled to Robina Parkway before driving onto a grassed area on the Boowaggan Road roundabout.

The three offenders inside the vehicle ditched the car and ran off but were tracked down by the dog squad in nearby bushland.
