Three juveniles have been charged over a wild cross-border crime spree ending on the Gold Coast.

The teens allegedly stole several vehicles as they drove up the coast before eventually being arrested at the McDonalds in Nerang on Saturday.

The restaurant manager had phoned police after spotting the group sleeping in two cars in the carpark.

Superintendent Peter Miles has told the ABC that one of the teens involved, a 14-year-old from Victoria, had been reported as a missing person.

“We’ve been able to contact all three sets of parents and advise them where their kids are,” Superintendent Miles says.

“We’re still investigating what they’ve done between Victoria and Queensland but they’ve all been arrested for a number of offences.”

The trio will appear in Southport Children’s Court this morning.
