THREE police cars have sustained serious damage after being rammed by a stolen car in Surfers Paradise.
A black Audi Q7, which was reported stolen from Brisbane, was seen going into a carpark on Ferny Avenue around 8.20pm on Thursday.
A police vehicle then followed it into the car park while two other police vehicles remained stationed at the entrance.
One in the car park, the officers found the Audi and detained a 29-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl without incident.
During their arrest, a black Audi Q3, which had been stolen from Robina on Saturday, has allegedly driven at speed into the officers’ vehicle.
The police car sustained extensive damage.
The stolen car then continued towards the entrance where it rammed into the other two vehicles, also leaving them with substantial damage.
An 18-year-old man from Coomera was arrested by police at the scene.
He has since been charged with with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess property suspected used in connection with drug offence, obstruct and two counts of possess a dangerous drug.
The 29-year-old woman from Surfers Paradise has also been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess dangerous drugs, possess relevant substance, receiving tainted, stealing and two counts of breach of bail.
Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
The 15-year-old girl has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of trespass and stealing.
She has been remanded in custody and will appear in Southport Court at a later date.
