Police are on the hunt for three people after a stabbing in Southport left two men in hospital.
A disturbance broke out around 9pm along Prince Street last night involving a group of people.
A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the back during the altercation, with paramedics rushing him to hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Another man, a 65-year-old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his face.
Police say three people fled the scene in a vehicle before they arrived.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing into the incident.
Police are assuring the community there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Anyone with information or vision that could assist investigations, is asked to report it to police.
In particular, officers are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area, including along Southport Nerang Road around the time of the incident, to come forward.
