In very exciting news for reality TV lovers, the Gold Coast has been selected as the perfect love match for the filming location of The Bachelor Australia.
The popular reality dating show’s 10th season will be filmed across the Gold Coast region from next month.
It’s a major win for the city, with dozens of local jobs up for grabs and millions of dollars injected into the economy.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said bringing The Bachelor to Queensland would support local businesses and inspire interstate and international viewers.
“Production of this reality TV series will create around 80 local jobs and contribute an estimated $4.1 million into the Queensland economy, with flow-on benefits for our hospitality and tourism sectors,” the Premier said.
It’s the first time The Bachelor Australia will be filmed outside of New South Wales.
The dating show is hosted by Osher Günsberg and produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia for Network 10.
Warner Bros. International Television Production’s Managing Director Michael Brooks said the company is excited to be showcasing budding love on the Gold Coast.
“I can’t think of a more perfect backdrop for our iconic Bachelor franchise,” said Mr Brooks.
“Our beautiful new surroundings on the Gold Coast are one of many new creative changes in what will be a very bold, daring and exciting 10th season of The Bachelor Australia.”
The Bachelor Australia will begin filming in May for three months.
Network 10 is yet to announce exactly who will be vying to find love this season, or which Gold Coast venue will become The Bachelor mansion.
The Gold Coast is no stranger to big productions, with Baz Luhrmann’s highly anticipated biopic Elvis being filmed here last year, as well as Disney+ original series Nautilus, which is currently filming at Village Roadshow Studios.
