There are renewed calls for a police beat to return to Robina Town Centre following a brazen daylight robbery.

A teenage boy and teenage girl, who was wearing her school uniform, were captured on CCTV looking at iPhones through a glass cabinet at a store inside the shopping centre around 1pm Tuesday.

The pair left the store, but just 15 minutes later the boy returned, smashing the glass cabinet with a rock.

He managed to grab three new iPhones before making a run for it.

Staff and security gave chase, but the duo got away and remain on the run this morning.

Workers are now calling for the police beat which closed down at the centre in 2022 to be reopened, claiming similar incidents involving teens are a common occurrence.
