Police have now charged two teenage boys following a Police chase in a stolen car across the Gold Coast, with Police alleging one of them was intoxicated behind the wheel.

A Skoda Kodiaq was first spotted on the M1 at Helensvale just after 12.30pm on Monday before being tracked across several suburbs by Polair to Southport.

Officers successfully deployed tyre spikes but the vehicle continued driving, allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road while heading back towards the motorway.

Police say a low-speed pursuit was initiated but it was terminated two minutes later.

It’s also alleged the Skoda deliberately swerved into an unmarked Police car.

The chase eventually came to an end on the M1 at Pimpama where a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody.

The incident caused traffic mayhem with the left-hand lane of the motorway blocked for some time.
