Three teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing two luxury cars and taking them on a 70km joyride from the Gold Coast to Brisbane.
The trio is believed to have bragged about their heist on social media, live-streaming their antics online before they were eventually arrested yesterday afternoon.
The joyride came to a dramatic end in the underground carpark of a shopping centre at Everton Hills when they were cornered by police.
One of the vehicles involved, a Bentley worth $500,000, was stolen from a home in Benowa on Sunday night.
It’s understood the criminals broke into the home and nabbed the keys from the victim’s bedside table while he slept.
That vehicle, along with a $200,000 Land Cruiser, have both been recovered.
At least two of the teens, including a 16-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl have been charged with a raft of offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
They will face the children’s court at a later date.
